Kennel Attendant - Hickory Hills Kennel - Madison, WI

Hickory Hills Kennel, one of Madison’s dog boarding and doggy daycare centers is seeking two full-time employees. Boarding: Candidates should be a team player and have at least one-year prior customer service experience. Experience with animals is a plus! You will be responsible in helping run and maintain a clean and safe environment for all of our dog guests as well as communicate with their owners about how their stay went. Holidays and weekends are required.

Daycare: Candidates should be a team player and have dog handling experience. You will be responsible for supervising and maintaining a safe and fun play environment for all our dog guests as well as clean, bathe and clean up after dogs all throughout the day. Daycare staff need to be able to handle all Wisconsin weather conditions, lift at least 50 pounds and stand for long periods at a time.

Some responsibilities include:

*Feeding and administering medications

*Monitoring the health of each dog closely

*Maintaining the cleanliness of each individual kennel

*Supervising group playtime

*Bathing dogs

*Recording basic information in our boarding and daycare system

*Communicating with other staff members and clients thoroughly

Skills:

*Cash handling experience

*Phones and basic computer knowledge

*Problem-solving capabilities

Requirements:

*Ability to walk and be on feet for extensive periods of time

*Ability to handle, clean and care for dogs of varying sizes and temperament

*Ability to work outside in hot and cold weather conditions

*Ability to take directions from management

*Have reliable transportation
