Full Job Description
Central Bark Sheboygan is looking to make an immediate hire for an experienced groomer. We are the premier doggy day care, grooming, and training facility in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. As our second groomer you will set your schedule and have an already established clientele of day care, training, and groom only clients. You will work independently but also be part of a team. We offer a fun, friendly, positive working environment where our culture is what makes us great! Hours available are Monday through Friday and Saturday’s by the groomers discretion. This position is W2 commission based pay.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Must have experience and knowledge to groom all breeds to AKC standard or as requested by owner.
Discussing grooming requests with customers.
Bathing, trimming nails and dremel, cleaning ears, brushing, blow-drying, clipping, de-matting, shaving, and expressing anal glands.
Maintaining grooming records and establishing a relationship with customers.
General upkeep of the groom room and keeping clean your work station.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will be compassionate and patient with animals, possess excellent scissor and clipper skills, and have a positive, “can-do” attitude.
Applicant must have a work history of reliability, detail oriented, exceptional customer service skills, and a team player.
1-3 years of professional dog grooming experience required. This experience may be in the form of a formal grooming degree or of gained working experience as an apprentice to an established groomer.
Portfolio of previous clients recommended.
It is recommended that all Groomers are current on their Tetanus vaccination.
Ability to define problems, analyze emergencies and think on your feet. Ability to deal rationally with irrational customers.
Benefits:
We provide and maintain all necessary equipment (hair dryers, electric tables, crates and crate dryers, etc) and supplies (shampoos, ribbons, ear cleaner, etc). Groomers are responsible for their own grooming tools and sharpening.
We do all the scheduling, running the dogs, and taking of payments so you can focus on what you love to do!
Full time status makes you eligible for PTO (Paid Time Off).
Simple IRA with a 100% match on the first 3% is eligible to all PT and FT employees.
