If you want to help pets get adopted, here’s your chance.

The Los Angeles chapter of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals has partnered with a pet-related employment recruitment firm for a weeklong event to raise money and help find dogs and other pets permanent families.

The animal rights nonprofit announced its partnership with PackHire this week.

As part of spcaLA’s April Pet Adoption & Fundraising Week, the nonprofit and PackHire — an employment search engine and recruiting service specifically for the pet industry — will host a joint Instagram live event on Monday, April 19, and April 26. A virtual pet adoption and fundraising two-week special will also last from Monday to May 2.

“PackHire has aligned business with philanthropy to support a cause which is a natural fit,” spcaLA President Madeline Bernstein said in a statement. “They have our gratitude for their donation, which helps support our programs and services.”

Folks can drop off gifts — unopened pet food, toys, blankets, litter, beds and treats — at the spcaLA South Bay Adoption Center, 12910 Yukon Ave., in Hawthorne. Those interested in adopting a pet can view the animals and begin the process online: spcaLA.com.

The goal is to house at least five pets and raising $3,000 during the event. The money will go toward animal medical expenses, behavioral training, vaccinations, spaying and neutering, and purchasing much-needed pet food and supplies.

“Showing kindness and compassion towards animals is one of the hallmarks of a healthy, vibrant community,” PackHire founder Seda Bolulu said in a statement. “And spcaLA has been a valuable community partner and advocate in this space for over 140 years.

“That is why,” Bolulu added, “we chose to team up with this amazing organization.”
